BLOSSOM + LOVE SESSION

Blossom + Love - I’m just going to call our Spring sessions that, because it’s what it is. I’ll be documenting your love among all the spring blossoms! Ah, I LOVE IT!

About the session:

It’s going to be so beautiful! Imagine yourself and your family walking in between rows and rows of flower blossoms. Ya, THAT!

BUT, these sessions could also be the most unpredictable and…frustrating as well.

Orchard blossoms include mostly apricot (small, pale pink/blush), cherry (white), peach (pink) and apple (white+pinkish) flowers. Cherry and peach usually bloom at the same time, around the beginning to mid May. Apple flowers come a little later, around the end of May. These flowers depend 100% on the perfect weather conditions to bloom. Those are cool, crisp, sunshine, no rain, no wind, not too cold, and not too warm. Once they bloom, they last about 1-2 weeks. They DO NOT LAST long. And if you know our Spring, you know we have the most unpredictable weather ever. Yikes!

So, please book with flexibility in mind. The date that you’re booking below IS NOT guaranteed will be the date of your session. We have rescheduled and/or cancelled sessions in the past. There is also a chance that you will NOT make it at all, and that happened too. I wanted to ensure that you know about all these when booking the session and have the right expectation. I will try to do my best (by coordinating with the orchard owner and monitoring the blooms - cherry blossom anxiety is a real thing, guys!) to make it happen for you. However, I can’t guarantee which flowers you will get at the time of your session. Could be peach, could cherry, or apple, I do not know. We’ll do photos wherever there’re flowers.

Lighting:

All the photos below were captured on an overcast/cloudy day, which is amazing and most ideal.

I schedule almost all of my outdoor sessions 1.5 hours before sunset and/or after sunrise. This is so that we have the best possible lighting for your photos. In Spring, the sun sets quite late. And that means the later the session is, the softer the light we’ll get and the more floral details we could preserve.

So, does that mean your photos will not look good if you book a 5:30pm session on a sunny day? - Of course NOT. Your photos will still look gorgeous, because I will work my magic for you. However, please do expect some details (flowers) to be very bright and could potentially be blown out. That’s all!

In case of inclement weather (overcast works well!), your session will be rescheduled to the rain date (included) at the time you’ve chosen. **NOTE: if you have done a mini session with me in the past, please note that there’s a new change in our pricing. Due to some confusions and misunderstanding that unfortunately happened last year, I’ve decided to change our process to make it easy for everyone (myself included). I will no longer offer proof gallery in which you can select your images. The session includes 25 images and I will pick the best ones for you. Rest assured that your gallery will be composed of images that tell your story, moments and little details of that day. If, however, you still wish to see more photos after receiving your gallery, you’re more than welcome to email me and I’ll send you information for the next step :).

Lastly, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email. I’d love to create some memories for you and your loved one this Spring.

With love,

Lucy xo
